1. The Beginning of the Journey

Kioskian’s journey into the international market began when a Japanese company, in collaboration with a Hong Kong-based trading company, approached us with a unique opportunity. The Japanese company had a specific need for a compact queue management solution for the Japanese market. After a careful evaluation process, they selected Kioskian as their partner.

The Hong Kong trading company played a pivotal role in connecting the Japanese company with us. They facilitated the initial discussions and arranged a visit to our Shenzhen facility. During the visit, the Japanese engineers were impressed by our R&D team, production processes, and quality control systems. They were particularly satisfied with our engineering capabilities, which led to the decision to move forward with a Joint Development partnership.

2. The Collaborative Development

With the trust established, we began working together to design a small, compact queue management system tailored specifically for the Japanese market. The Japanese company provided the functional requirements and design guidelines, while Kioskian took responsibility for refining the design, developing the hardware and software, and managing production.

During the collaboration, Japanese engineers visited our facility several times to oversee the production process and ensure everything met their strict quality standards. They worked closely with our team, helping to define the production flow, quality inspection points, and testing procedures. This hands-on involvement ensured that the final product would be a perfect fit for the Japanese market.

3. Smooth Supply Chain and Manufacturing

The Shenzhen supply chain proved to be a major advantage for both parties. From design to model creation, mold development, and raw material procurement, everything proceeded smoothly. Shenzhen’s electronic component market made it easy to source the necessary parts, enabling us to keep production efficient and cost-effective.

This well-integrated supply chain allowed us to deliver the final product within the required timeframe, ensuring the product met Japan Post Bank’s exact specifications.

4. A Successful Outcome

The collaboration proved to be a success, and the compact queue management system was submitted to Japan Post Bank’s tender process. After rigorous evaluation, our product was selected as the winning solution. Between 2009 and 2013, over 3,000 units of the kiosk were produced and deployed across Japan Post Bank branches.
